Account & Data Deletion
Request deletion of your OtterFriend account or data
This page is the account deletion request page for the OtterFriend app by the OtterFriend developer, as listed on Google Play. You can request deletion whether or not you still have the app installed.
How to request deletion
- In the app: open Profile → Settings → Privacy & safety, then tap Delete account to remove everything, or Delete some or all of my data to clear data without closing your account.
- On the web: fill in the request form below with the email address on your account and choose what you want deleted.
- By email: write to [email protected] from your account email with the subject “Delete my account”.
- We verify the request against your account email, then confirm and complete it within 30 days.
Data we delete
When your request is completed we delete:
- Your profile: name, photos, bio, job, education, icebreaker answers, and preferences.
- Dates you hosted, applications you sent, matches, and Otter Tickets.
- Event and Here chat messages you sent, and your saved dates and venues.
- Here check-in history, waves, in-app notifications, and notification device tokens.
- For a full account deletion, your sign-in identity held by our authentication provider.
Data we keep
A few records must be retained after deletion:
- Purchase and tax records, where required by law, for as long as the law requires (up to 7 years).
- Safety and moderation records, such as abuse reports, for up to 12 months to keep the community safe.
- Partner venues only ever see anonymized visit counts and Otter Ticket validation scans. Those never contain your name, email, phone number, or profile history.
How long it takes
We verify each request against the account email, confirm it with you, and complete deletion within 30 days. Data is removed from live systems immediately when you use the in-app deletion controls, and encrypted backups rotate out within 90 days. In-app deletions are immediate and cannot be undone.
